Your newborn photography session is approaching, and I want to share what you can expect and how we can prepare for this special moment. Here's a guide to help you get the most out of your newborn photography session:
1. Timing Is Crucial:
Newborns are often at their sleepiest and most cooperative during the first two weeks of life. That's why we've scheduled your session within this window. We'll be aiming for a date between 5 to 14 days after your baby's birth. During this time, your little one is more likely to be settled and sleepy, perfect for those adorable photos.
2. Baby's Feeding Schedule:
To ensure our session goes smoothly, it's essential to have a well-fed baby. Hungry babies can be fussy and less cooperative during the photoshoot. Please wait to feed your baby just before the session starts. This way, your baby will be content and more likely to drift off to sleep, making it easier for me to capture those sweet, peaceful, and sleepy shots.
3. Prepare for a Relaxed Environment:
Your newborn photography session will take place in a warm, quiet, and comfortable setting. I will create a soothing atmosphere to keep your baby calm. You’ll be able to relax and enjoy this special time with your little one while I work my magic.
4. Patience Is Key:
These sessions can sometimes be lengthy, as newborns can be unpredictable and may need soothing, changing, or feeding during the process. You should keep in mind that I will work to capture those perfect moments, so patience is crucial. Please trust in my expertise and give me the time needed to achieve the best results. We aim for a session to last approximately two hours and a majority of that time could be soothing, feeding, and keeping your baby safe and comfortable.
5. Dress for Success:
I will prepare a few outfit options and props for your baby and you can bring along any special props or blankets if you have any specific ideas in mind. While I provide various props and backdrops, it's always a good idea to include some personal items that will add a unique touch to your baby’s photos.
6. Safety First:
Your baby's well-being is my top priority, and safety will always come first during the session. I have training in safely handling and posing newborns during photo sessions. I follow best practices for ensuring the safety and comfort of your little one.
In conclusion, your newborn photography session is a wonderful opportunity to capture precious memories of your baby's earliest days. By following these guidelines, you can expect beautiful and timeless photos that you'll cherish for a lifetime. Remember, patience and safety are crucial for ensuring a successful and enjoyable experience during our session.
Xo,
Maricela
