Who Wraps the Baby in a Newborn Photo Session? When parents arrive at a newborn session, one of the first questions I often hear is: “Do I need to know how to wrap my baby?”

The answer is no—you don’t have to do a thing. In fact, I’ll take care of everything.

As a professional newborn photographer, I’m trained in safe wrapping techniques that keep your baby cozy, secure, and content throughout the session. Wrapping isn’t just about aesthetics (though yes, it does make for stunning portraits!)—it also helps babies feel soothed and calm, much like they did in the womb.

Safety First—AlwaysYour baby’s safety is my absolute top priority. I’ve spent years perfecting my wrapping methods to ensure your little one is snug but never restricted. I pay close attention to circulation, breathing, temperature, and positioning throughout the entire session.

Every wrap, pose, and transition is done with care, and I only use soft, breathable fabrics designed specifically for newborn skin.

What About Diaper Changes and Feeding?

You’ll still have plenty of time to feed, snuggle, and change your baby during the session. I’ll guide you through a natural rhythm—usually starting with wrapped poses while baby is sleepy, then moving into more relaxed shots depending on how baby is doing. You’ll never feel rushed or unsure of what’s happening.

Can I Help?

Of course! While I’ll be doing the actual wrapping, some parents enjoy watching the process or assisting by handing me items. If you'd rather sit back and relax (or catch your breath with a cup of coffee), that’s totally okay too. I’ve designed my sessions to be as stress-free as possible—your only job is to enjoy the moment.

Why Wrapping Matters in Newborn Photography

Wrapping helps create those dreamy, timeless images you see in my portfolio—little toes tucked in, hands gently folded, baby’s face softly framed. It’s also a beautiful way to transition between setups without waking or startling your newborn.

Every baby is different, and I always follow their cues. Some love being wrapped the entire time, while others prefer looser, more relaxed setups after a few shots. I adapt to what your baby needs in the moment.

What You Can Expect From Me

From the moment you arrive, I’ll walk you through the session, answer any questions, and make sure you feel completely at ease. You’re trusting me with your most precious gift—and I take that responsibility seriously.

You don’t need to learn how to wrap, pose, or prep your baby—I’ve got it covered. All you need to do is show up, breathe, and let me do what I love most: capturing your baby’s first days with care and intention.
